Supporting The Banister Family During A Great Loss

Update: On Sunday, July 17 of 2016, Princess Samantha (Samantha Bannister) passed away surrounded by family and unconditional love.
Our Agency will continue to raise funds to help with funeral expenses and to assist the family during their grieving. Samantha has touched many lives, and together we celebrate her life without grief to honor the smile she ALWAYS had on her face.

Update: On July 14th we received notice that our Samantha has worsened. The emergency CT scan revealed swelling in her brain, she cannot speak, swallow, move her left side, or talk now.  She is receiving steroids to manage the damage but if she must have emergency surgery or she will die.

The medical bill aspect of the fundraising has been worked out and the money needed at this point is for helping to feed the family while having to live in a hospital as food costs upwards of 10 per person per meal for Sami's mother, father, brother, and sister.  Due to her condition, none of them can leave the hospital unless it is an emergency.  Funds will also go to funeral expenses and to help the family with other bills that are incurred due to the circumstances.  This is hard for her parents and her siblings, and after emotional trauma, finances are detrimentally impacted to the point where the quality of life could be diminished for the remaining children.

Update: On March 18, 2015, Doctors discovered that 12-year-old Samantha Lee was suffering from a rare and deadly form of childhood brain cancer: a Grade 3 Anaplastic Astrocytoma. Since then, Sami has undergone a six-hour biopsy, and endoscopic third ventriculostomy, and a 17-hour brain surgery.

After recuperating and months being with no visible cancer, and MRI in January indicated that Sami’s cancer had recurred. Since that time, the tumor has grown 1cm. Her family has been told that any additional growth may likely result in Sami experiencing loss of mobility, sight, hearing, and even memories.

Sami is now in palliative care at home. The tumor is now inoperable and she can no longer receive chemotherapy. But her family still needs our support to cover medical expenses and to help Sami during these extremely tough times.

Our agency will donate $10 to Little Sami and her family on your behalf for every recommendation you send our way, and we'll add you to our monthly drawing for a $50 Gift Card. Getting involved has never been so simple, or Free!
